OMNI was proud to be a Gold Sponsor of the Southeastern Association of School Business Officials 66th Annual Conference & Discovery Forum. OMNI’s Director of Business Development, Mark Buckley represented OMNI at the conference and attended the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Discovery Forum. During the forum, Mark was able to tour the hospital, join in a session with the ALSAC/St. Jude Innovation Team to engage in collaborative and innovative problem-solving, and completing a service project at St. Jude.

> OMNI’s President and CEO, Robert McLean, presented “What to Expect in the Event of an IRS Audit”

U.S. OMNI's President and CEO, Robert McLean was recently invited by ABMM Financial's John Bannan (representing Security Benefit) to present "What to Expect in the Event of an IRS Audit" at the Bergen County Association of School Business Officials' Annual Conference in New Jersey. The presentation highlighted OMNI's full IRS audit support including a review of the key agreements that must be in place for a 403(b) plan to operate in compliance with IRS regulations such as the Plan Document and Information Sharing Agreements. The presentation also covered the importance of Universal Availability, monitoring of maximum allowable contribution limits, accurate loan and hardship processing, and penalties for any plan failures.

> Regina Bauer joins OMNI as Controller

OMNI has hired Regina Bauer as Controller. As our current Controller, Charles Bayer, begins his new journey in his retirement, Regina will step into the role and take on all of Charlie’s responsibilities and work on implementing improvements where necessary. Regina has worked in division level corporate accounting and finance positions, as well as in small, mid-sized, large and international businesses both private and public. Before joining OMNI in 2017, she held the position of Controller for a mid-size business with multi-state locations. As Controller for OMNI, Regina is responsible for all areas of accounting, finance, payroll, benefits, and operations for the company. Regina holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from St. John Fisher College and has over 20 years of experience in public and private accounting.

Ryan Phillips has joined OMNI as the Business Development Manager. Ryan studied Business Administration at The College at Brockport in New York with a concentration in management. > New York State ASBO 2017 Education Summit & Expo

OMNI was proud to once again be a Titanium Sponsor of New York State ASBO’s Annual Education Summit & Expo. Robert McLean, OMNI’s President and CEO, presented “What to look for in a 403(b) TPA”. OMNI’s Director of Compliance, Zach Keep, and Business Development Manager, Andrea Pursel, represented OMNI at Missouri ASBO’s 2017 Spring Conference. Zach Keep provided a presentation from OMNI called “Are You Protected In The Event of an IRS Audit?” on May 3, 2017. The presentation went over the different topics that OMNI sees most scrutinized by IRS auditors, such as Universal Availability, written Plan Documents and Information Sharing Agreements, and the processing of loans and hardships.

OMNI’s President and CEO, Robert McLean, represented OMNI and presented at the Washington ASBO 2017 Annual Conference on May 12th. The presentation, titled “The “Must Knows” of 403(b) and 457(b) Plans”, goes over details of the topics OMNI receives the most questions on from our clients, including the importance of having a written Plan Document and Information Sharing Agreements in place, the advantages of non-elective contributions for employers, the difference in employee/elective limits and employer/non-elective limits, and the penalties and repurcussions for plan failures.

OMNI is pleased to announce the opening of its West Coast operations office in Concord, California. The office will serve the many new clients coming to Omni through extensive growth as well as long-time clients in California and surrounding States. OMNI’s President and CEO, Robert McLean said, "Having operations personnel in both West Coast and East Coast time zones will provide optimal customer service to plan sponsors and their employees accommodating their schedule." Omni plans to expand its California operations as its clientele in Western States continues to grow.

> Winners of #savein16 Contest Announced

Since earlier this year, OMNI has been running a campaign on our social media platforms called #savein16. Participants shared their ideas to cut down on spending and save more during New Year’s resolution season, using the hashtag #savein16. The contest ran until March 31st and winners were randomly selected and notified shortly after.

> Sarah Breiner joins The OMNI Group as Staff Attorney

The OMNI Group has hired Sarah Breiner as Staff Attorney. As Robert McLean steps into his role as new President and Chief Executive Officer, Sarah will be taking on many of Rob’ previous responsibilities and will work on expanding the scope of OMNI's capabilities. Mr. McLean stated “We’re excited to have Sarah join our team. She brings a tremendous skillset to OMNI that will further enable us to serve our clients in the best possible fashion and expand our services and footprint in our industry.”

Ms. Breiner has been practicing law for over 7 years and comes to OMNI from a Rochester New York law firm where she handled commercial litigation matters. > Robert McLean to Lead The OMNI Group

The OMNI Group announced today that Robert McLean has been named as the new President and Chief Executive Officer. Previously, as Vice President, Rob also served as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer and played a key role in developing 403(b) and 457(b) plan documents, as well as managing OMNI’s compliance department. He has also been an industry spokesperson, serving on various national committees and forums.

Mr. McLean replaces Nina Rovinski, who has retired as President and Chief Executive Officer. She joined OMNI in 1999 and in her prior roles during this time, including Chief Operating Officer; Nina headed the overall administration of business operations, technology and quality control procedures, significantly contributing to OMNI’s development and success.
